Volunteers and internships
Each year IOI facilitates medical, sports, evangelism, VBS, and training teams to Ethiopia and Brazil. Our objective is to partner skills and talents with needs on the field.
We have found that volunteers often perceive that they have received more than they have given, but we also know how valuable your time on the field can be for struggling ministries. If you feel that God is leading you to join with us on mission, or to serve as an intern please read our letter of introduction and contact us for more information. |

FOR YOUR CONSIDERATIONThank you for your interest in serving with Indigenous Outreach International. We would like to give you some very basic and brief information that may help you as you explore joining us on a journey.
Traveling with IOI is a decision that should not be made lightly. If after prayer and consultation you are convinced to journey with us contact us through the link provided or by email to select a prospective travel date and location. You will be responsible for obtaining a Passport and any necessary vaccinations. Volunteers are also required to complete an application, legal forms, and submit to a background check. All travelers under 21 must have the permission of their parent or legal guardian. As a rule IOI does not facilitate travel for anyone under the age of 13. Most of our opportunities are 10 to 14 days in duration and cost between $2,300 to $3,300 depending on the destination and time of travel. This estimate includes all travel, scheduled meals and lodging from your point of departure to return. It does not include passports, visas, vaccinations, or “spending money”. IOI requires a non-refundable deposit to be paid up to three months in advance of departure. Travelers are also required to obtain travel insurance that covers disruption of travel plans as well as some medical expenses. For more information on health and safety visit to the Center for Disease Control and The US State Department websites. IOI provides a list of do’s and don’ts in our volunteer manuals. These rules have been developed from decades of experience and are intended for the benefit of all involved. For specific information on travel to Ethiopia download our volunteer manual which will give you more details. You will be required to affirm our Statement of Belief. Any volunteers or staff that will be working with children are required to read and sign our Policy for the Protection of Children. In addition, all first-time volunteers must complete a background check. We pray that throughout this process you will be edified, the church will be encouraged, and God would be glorified. |
